As an important carrier of teaching activity, the quality of the English teaching materials for children directly affects the result of the children's learning.The material of being suitable for children characteristics of their age and mental can lay a solid foundation for the follow-up study.However,as far as I understand, the English textbooks market is an unprecedented prosperity of various types and the price also from dozens of dollars to hundreds of dollars, and still appeared even thousands of yuan or even more expensive ones. But owing to the particularity of preschool English education, the selection and subscriptions of children English textbooks have been not made unified regulation by the country and the children English textbooks of national unity have not been published by the ministry of education designated. So what type of version of the textbooks is more scientific and reasonable, and what kind of the material is more suitable as infancy English learning content, the authorities also have not reached an agreement.Therefore, the author hopes that through the meticulous and multi-angle analysis and comparison of three sets of materials can contribute to increase attention degree of children English textbooks for the English educational circle and help writer to write more appropriate textbooks for the children to learn and also can be more helpful for the relevant department to strengthen the supervision of the quality for the preschool English textbooks.This research chooses three sets of children English textbook as research object.Moreover, the specific research objects are Playway to English; Little Early Bird and Happy English for Kids.The countries of research and development are the England(with English as its first language);Germany(with English as its second language) and China(with English as foreign language). The author makes a system analysis and comparison to the surface structure(the cover;the catalogue; the open version;the illustration;the theme;the content diversity;the sentence types;the teaching resources and the bottom sealing)and deep structure (the education concept; the education target and the teaching methods)of three sets of textbooks.This paper mainly adopts text analysis,and document analysis as well as the comparison mathod.Through the comparison of three sets of the children English textbooks which from different country in detail so as to summarize some common trends in children English textbooks editing and designing and also make the relevant discussion for the features of which each set of the textbooks to demonstrate. On this basis, the author makes some positive suggestion to the textbook writer; textbook users and the textbook supervision departments respectively.High quality children English textbook is the important guarantee of conducting the activities of children English teaching effectively.Relevant departments should further strengthen the examination and supervision of children English textbooks.And can also solve the problem of disorder of the kids English textbook market and fragment of teaching materials subscription fundamentally.Thus put the education function of the preschool English teaching materials into full play.And can better serve the children English learning.
