Study On Strategies To Advance Philosophy And Social Sciences In Chinese Universities

Philosophy and social sciences instructed by Marxist theory is a crucial tool for human beings to understand and reform this world, and thus indicated as significant power of the development of history and the progress of society. The achievements and quality of research on philosophy and social sciences is an essential part of comprehensive national strength. As the basis of all branches of philosophy and social sciences, Marxist theory also needs the support from a flourishing philosophy and social sciences. A prosperous future of research on philosophy and social sciences instructed by Marxist theory certainly acts as the foundation of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Acting as the base of personnel training, research and dissemination of new ideas and new culture, the Chinese universities has played an essential role in building socialism and advancing philosophy and social sciences. Because the development of philosophy and social sciences in Chinese universities is an important part of that in China, it is vital for the Chinese universities to heighten the sense of duty, mission and urgency, taking the acceleration of advancing philosophy and social sciences as a crucial and urgent strategic task, and assuring it with effective measures. Continuing efforts should be made to enhance the research on philosophy and social sciences.The present study has focused on philosophy and social sciences in Chinese universities which are among the five main forces in social science research. Based on thorough recognition of achievements in philosophy and social sciences in Chinese universities since the Opening and Reform, this study has laid a complete awareness of the necessity and urgency of a further advance in philosophy and social sciences in Chinese universities, and figured out the practical significance of this action. Problems in the development of philosophy and social sciences and corresponding reasons were analyzed, followed by strategies to solve present problems. This study has played a significant role in the further advance of philosophy and social sciences, as well as in the development of tertiary education in China.
