The world is increasingly complex, and the changes are getting faster and faster. With the intensification of the global integration process and the development of new technology, individuals will be in increasingly complex environment in which we increasingly need a strong learning ability and adaptability to achieve continuous development and progress. Especially in the context of reform and opening up, the globalization become more rapid, the development of new technology also become faster, such as wireless communication, network technology, and so on. Economic and cultural exchanges become more frequent, so we are facing a more diverse environment, and need to learn new knowledge and new technologies. This requires that we must become a self-reliance, self-management and self-education modern person to adapt to social progress and needs of the times. As an important all-round development of individual capacity, self-control is a control of one's own ability, an individual act in accordance with one's own set of plans and a strong guarantee to achieve the established objectives when an individual faces with complex and changing environmental factors.Secondary stage is an important stage when students get comprehensive and rapid development both physical and mental health aspects. It is a key stage to the growth of students because the physiological and psychological indicators of students will have lots of rapid changes in this stage. The improvement of self-control capabilities is an important part of comprehensive development of healthy and a necessary skill of self-management and self-education to become a modern person. Thus, it is necessary to do in-depth exploration and research related to students'self-control issues to guide the students in the educational practice. In this paper, the author researched the basic concepts related to self-control, the basic problems of self-control and the special problems of self-control of students to find the mechanisms of the formation and occurrence of self-control. At the same time, the author found that the existing problems and analyze their underlying profound reasons. On this basis, the author strived to make constructive comments and suggestions to hope to solve the typical problems during the development of students'self-control.
