Among world trade, about 85%-90% goods are achieved through sea transportation. International dry bulk transportation is a important part of the international shipping market, whose volume accounts for one third of that of international shipping market. While the volumes of iron ore, coal, grain account for about 60% of international dry bulk market's volume. The performance of international dry bulk market was very powerful, and the demand based on the importation of China's iron core and Japan's coal rises sharply. At the beginning of 2004, Baltic index BDI break through 5000 points, which outnumbered another high point 2352 on May 1,1995 about 3000 points. There is a controversy whether international dry bulk market would remain the present market in the near future. Therefore this paper focuses on the three main bulk cargoes (iron ore, coal, grain), which play an important role in the international dry bulk market and analyzes the developing trend of the international dry bulk market's demand in the future several years.
