Heterophony widely exists in folk music, and it is a most common texture form of folk multipart music. It attracts more attention in western modern music, which is a kind of"throwback"phenomenon, because it is the earliest multipart that people used. Until now, heterophony copiously exists in eastern and other Non-European original primitive folk music. Therefore the direct reason that western modern composers use heterophony is the result of learning the eastern and Non-European music. In Chinese contemporary music, it's not infrequent to write with the thought of heterophony consciously. This is not for composers'tailing after"the fashion"of western modern music but for returning to traditional and national consciousness. This paper researched and analyzed the expression techniques of heterophony that is used in GaoPing's piano concerto. Gao is the sixth generation composer in China. Through 3 chapters, the writer demonstrates how Gao used heterophony in his concerto. This kind of use included traditional expression techniques of heterophony and broke the tradition, and generating new types of heterophony with applying modern composing techniques. From the research, we can learn not only the specific use of heterophony but also the creative intention. Meanwhile, we'll get more comprehension about the art.Since there's no research about the nature of Gao'Piano Concertos, this paper has some opportunities to advance. Secondly, through directly interview, it's very benefit to the author's own theory study and creation progress. |
