Research on the interaction between piano and orchestra would be beneficial to thecognition of piano performance in concerto and also provide both overview and insight to thefeature of piano concerto. The findings of this research are supposed to be a good reference forthe executants of these musical pieces. It could guide the executants to obtain an in-depthunderstanding of the characteristics of piano concerto, properly interact with orchestra andachieve excellent performance as a solid combination. In addition, it helps to express the musicalthoughts of composer and precisely grasp the genre and style of music. Brahms’ D Minor PianoConcerto No.1was composed in the second half of the19thcentury, and Brahms has combinedthe classicism with romanticism elements to build a bridge between classicism and romanticism.For this reason, this musical piece is regarded as of great significance and therefore chosen to beanalyzed in the research.
