ObjectivesThe purpose of this paper is through a research about personality and mental health of a secondary shool inferior group, we can access to personality characteristics and mental health status of the dimension level of inferior groups in secondary school students,and find the differences between vulnerable students and general students in personality characteristics and mental health.Then,we will analysis the reasons of these differences and make some guides on mental health education in secondary schools.MethodsQuestionnaire. The basic data from this survey. Questionnaire using 16 personality factor questionnaire (16PF) and the Symptom Checklist (SCL-90).16 personality factor questionnaire (16PF) by the American professor of psychology R.B.Cattell,compiled by factor analysis. Surveying this questionnaire can obtain 16 kinds of major factors of personality. SCL-90 was created by L.R.Derogatis in 1975, with 90 items, each of the item is five ratings. SCL-90 can measure a broad content, including feelings, emotions, thought, consciousness, behavior, lifestyle, relationships, sleep and food, subjects are required to do according to their actual situation. Results is the level of symptoms of a person in a certain period of time (usually the last week), two scales are easy to use, and covering every corner of investigation. Both the two showed excellent reliability and validity, and they have been widely used. Students of high school one, two grades were randomly selected. The questionnaires include the basic demographic characteristics such as age, gender, and grade, and the 16 traits and 10 levels of mental health dimensions. ResultsBased on the factors extracted from the survey, we made statistic analysis to the available data, finally we get the results:there are significant differences between male and female, college students and high school students, inferior group students and ordinary group students etc.There is correlativity at sixteen dimensionality of 16PF and ten factors of SCL-90 between high school students and college students.ConclusionsAccording to the data we attain, we find that there is significant difference at personality and mental health between inferior group students and ordinary students. Because of different social environment, geographic location, life style etc, college students and high school students have significant differences at many factors.The most factors of 16PF and SCL-90 have correlativity each other, while high school students have a difference correlation coefficient with college students.
