During COVID-19 pandemic,Chinese residents faced challenges in their mental health, especially the residents in Wuhan and in other cities of Hubei province who have endured a long period of lockdown and self-isolation.Therefore,in post-COVID era,the mental health issues of residents in Hubei province needs to be paid more attention.Residents’ mental health literacy is related to four main aspects:residents’cognitions, attitudes, behaviors and habits on mental health issues, which will affect residents’ mental health to varying degrees.Good mental health literacy can help residents better cope with such emergencies and other social events, helping residents stay in good mental health;while bad mental health literacy has a negative impact on mental health, which means that residents’ mental health literacy also needs to be concerned.Mental health literacy is closely related to mental health. Thus, how to use the predictive effect of mental health literacy on mental health to improve the mental health level of residents is also a concern. This study is divided into two section:Study Ⅰ and Study Ⅱ,taking reference from the Kessler Simple Psychological Status Rating Scale(K10),Subjective Well-being Index Scale and the National Mental Health Literacy Questionnaire compiled by Jiang Guangrong et al.The first study adopted the questionnaire survey method to gather statistics surround the topic of resident’s mental health and mental health literacy after COVID-19 pandemic. The result from 1830 participated residents in Hubei Province will be explored and investigated. On the other side,Study two adopted the experimental method, which based on the new framework of mental health literacy, mainly surround the idea of how to "maintain and promote their mental health attitude and habit" and"dealing with their mental health attitude and habit" using group activities function. These include planning on event detail and analysis the level of intervention effect on mental health. This study has made the following findings:(1)The overall mental health literacy rating of residents in Hubei province is similar to that of the whole population in China, which means that improving residents’mental health literacy requires extensive attention;(2)There are differences in the mental health literacy structure among the residents in Hubei province.Specifically, the residents’ understanding of mental health knowledge and concept is higher than that of mental illness knowledge and concept, mental health promotion accomplishment is higher than that of coping with mental illness, and self-help accomplishment is higher than that of helping others;(3)There are differences in mental health literacy among residents in Hubei Province due to area from urban per capita GDP level, urban and rural sources, gender, age, education level and family per capita disposable annual income, which is also significantly related to socioeconomic status. The highest mental health literacy level came from urban residents with the highest per capita GDP,urban origin residents, women, residents aged 18 to 25,residents with the highest level of education, and residents with the highest disposable household income.Hence, the higher the socioeconomic status of residents, the higher the mental health literacy level;(4)After COVID-19(August of 2020),the mental health rating(psychology, subjective well-being)of residents(at least 18 years of age)in residents is at the relatively high psychological status and the relatively low level of subjective well-being;(5)There are differences in psychological health level(psychological state, subjective well-being)of residents in Hubei province in urban per capita GDP level, urban and rural sources, gender, age, education level, family per capita disposable annual income, which is also significantly related to socioeconomic status.City dwellers with the lowest per capita GDP,rural residents, female residents, residents aged 18 to 25 and 26 to 30,residents with college degree or bachelor’s degree, and residents with the lowest family income had the most negative psychological status.Rural residents, female residents, residents aged 31 to 40,residents with junior middle school education level or below, and residents with per capita annual income of 13,001 to 32,000 yuan had the lowest SWB.In brief, the higher the residents’ socioeconomic status, the higher their subjective well-being;(6)There is a strong link between mental health literacy and mental health level(psychology, subjective well-being).This level can be forecasted from the resident’s literacy of health. The two aspect "maintaining and promoting" to"attitude" regarding their personal mental health are the main predictors of psychological status and subjective well-being;(7)Using the two aspect of "Maintaining and promoting mental health attitude and habit" and "dealing with mental health attitude and habit" as the main basis, other surround aspects of mental health as a secondary basis, practiced in the group to improve the level of mental health. The experimental results showed that the intervention had a significant effect.Based on these, the study put forward recommendations:The improvement of residents’ mental health level can be based on the concept of the mental health literacy new framework. It should mainly use the two aspects of "maintaining and promoting their mental health attitudes and habits" and"dealing with their mental health attitudes and habits",taking "knowledge" and "others"as auxiliary aspects. |
