| The literary writings Jie QiTing by Quan Zuwang, a famous scholar in Qing-dynasty, collected 212 epitaphs and biographies, which made up about one third of his works. These epitaphs and biographies were Quan Zuwang's contribution to historiography, also his achievement in literary. Most of them were about the loyal heroes, distinguished literati, honest and upright official in turn from Ming to Qing Dynasty. The epitaphs by Quan Zuwang had a special kind of emotion, which could always make the readers exciting, and its reason lied in his special writing style.This article will discuss this special writing style from the angle of his academic background, his literary thinking and his narrative trait. It contains five parts: the first chapter is an introduction, which gives a sketch of the recent research situation, also this article's train of thought; the second chapter discourses the academic background of his writing; the third chapter is about the literary thinking contained in his works; the fourth discourses the narrative trait of the epitaphs; the last one discusses the relationship between Quan Zuwang and Zhang Xuecheng in the term of literary history. |
