College students are high-level talent that institutions of higher education in our country are producing. Therefore their physical and psychological well--being are crucial to the future of our nation. And social adaptation is an important aspect to examine their mental health. Also some people claim that it is the nature of mental health. On the whole, there are quite close relationship between social adaptation and mental health. However, most recent researches on mental health of college students are only confined to being carried out from the clinical manifestations or mental health point of view. They may be purely theoretical statements, the only use of foreign scale measurements, or questionnaires about specific mental health all worked out by themselves. Thus there have been few studies on questionnaires designed from social adaptation point of view. Therefore, from the view of social adaptation, this article is mainly concerned with a set of questionnaires of college students'psychological well-being. And I wish it would be helpful to the studies of college students'mental health.Based on the literature research, I have made open-ended quaternaries and interviews with college students and teachers with the combination of higher education reality and some common mental blocks among college students. I exerted myself to make an evaluation tool suitable for college students with the aim of scientifically carrying out education of mental health among college students and providing scientific proofs and guiding methods for precaution designing and interfering plans.The main conclusions are as follows:Firstly, based on the literature research, this study puts forward the standard and elements of contents of college students'mental health from social adaptation point of view. And with these as theoretical foundations, this article defines five component factors for the college student's mental health quaternaries: human relation and role; pressure handling; family; study; physique. So it has primarily finished the construction work of editing the college student's mental health quaternaries from social adaptation point of view.Secondly, the result gained from testing the validity and reliability demonstrates that the quaternaries have high validity and reliability and it meets the requirements of Psychological Testing.Thirdly, from the research on contrastive analysis of the level of college students'mental health with regard to the aspects of the grade, gender, school, the place where they come from and the only-child or not, I draw the conclusion that there is obvious difference in the specific aspect rather than the total mark.
