To start from the study of the concepts of political leaders from Confucianism, Taoism, Mohism, Legalism in the pre-Qin period, this paper analyzes the blind spot of various concepts of political leaders as well as the corresponding characteristics of all schools of Legalism. Based on the systematic discussion about Han Fei's inheritance and going beyond previous Legalists'concepts of political leaders, from the perspective of"heaven and people""ruler and minister", the researcher probes into the psychological characteristics of political leaders in the role conversion in Han Feizi, furthermore reveals that the characteristics of political leaders'psychological changes described in Han Feizi is the specific reflection of the connection between the psychological changes of political leaders and their role conversion in the political psychology.In the preface part, Han Fei's life and the political thought in Han Feizi are briefly introduced, and the significance of studying psychology of political leaders in Han Feizi is stated, the researcher summarizes the results of studying on the political thought in Han Feizi and the political psychology both at home and abroad. Besides the detailed description of the research methodology, the related terms in this paper are clearly defined and explained. The body is divided into three chapters:The first chapter mainly introduces different concepts of political leaders from Confucianism, Taoism, Mohism in the Pre-Qin period. Having combined with the historical background and the core ideology of each, the researcher tries to find out the blind spot of these three concepts of political leaders.The second chapter focuses on Han Fei's inheritance and going beyond the previous concepts of political leaders from various schools of Legalism in the Pre-Qin period. Based on the study of Shang Yang, Shen Buhai and Shen Dao, these three's concepts of political leaders, though comparison between Han Fei and three schools of Legalism, the researcher explains how Han Fei inherits and goes beyond the three schools and discusses the characteristics of Han Fei's concept of political leaders.The third chapter emphasizes on psychological changes of political leaders in their role conversion in Han Feizi. To take the political leaders (the king) in the Pre-Qin period as the study object, the researcher analyzes the psychology of the king in various relationships between the king and heaven, the king and people, the king and other kings, the king and ministers, in addition systematically discussed the reasons, characteristics and the process of the king's psychological change in his role conversion.In the conclusion part, a brief summary of the whole paper is offered, as well as an overall evaluation on the psychological characteristics of political leaders in Han Feizi. Finally, the conclusion is reached that that the characteristics of political leaders'psychological changes described in Han Feizi is the specific reflection of the connection between the psychological changes of political leaders and their role conversion in the political psychology.
