Mikhail Bulgakov(1891—1940),reappeared in fiction forum in the "regress" tide of Russian literature during the 20th century. One of his novels,Master and Magaritte, has not been published before his death, but until 1960s.Since its inception,it became a hot research topic in literary critics, having been known as a book wizard at that time.Till now, most of the researchers have been concerned more about the forms of the works. They consider Master and Magaritte as a novel of magical nature.Analyzed from the aspect of content, the Master and Magaritte is a novel full of strong religious culture. The images in the novel have a relationship with the author himself. That is to say,to some extent, the images in the novel bear a reflection of the author's life.In the author' eyes,Jesusa is the symbol of truth and belief; Pilate's cowardice is the rethinking of human conscience;Worland who punish the evil and protect the good is the mask of the author; The frustrating Master is shadow of incomplete life;Margaret is the symbol of human ideal. It is believed firmly that if human beings established the "God is Good," believe that "love can save the world,a new kingdom of truth will be established. This thesis aims at explaining further the works though analyzing the characteristics and religious culture in this Master and Magaritte such as Jesusa,Pilate,Worland,Magaritte, and Master, who reveal the exploration journey to the spirit of humanity and moral ideal way in the author's eyes.
