Abstract/Summary:
There was a great number of Poet-Monks In the Late Yuan Period. They widely befriended with government officials, literatis and Taoists at that time, travelled together with them and left on a huge number of poems. In the Early Ming, some of those Poet-Monks secured official positions in the Ming government. From then on, they were highly involved in political struggles, both their destinies and minds were greatly changed by the cruel political background of the Early Ming. Those changes could also be reflected by their literary works.This thesis will be centered by Lai Fu, Zong Le,Yao Guangxiao, the three most influential Poet-Monks of that period. Through the research work of these three, the whole circle of Poet-Monks in the Late Yuan and Early Ming period, not only the group structure , but also their interpersonal friendships, political attitudes and literary works will also be thoroughly reflected.There are three parts of this thesis, the first one is a brief introduction to the research background and value of this article. The second part is the body of this thesis, which includes five chapters. The first chapter is a short introduction to the Buddism development of Yuan-Ming Period and the general structure of the Poet-Monk circle in the Late Yuan and Early Ming period. From the second to the fourth chapter, are independent researches on Lai Fu, Zong Le and Yao Guangxiao. The fifth chapter is a general research on the literary works of the whole Poet-Monk circle. The third and final part is to sum up the whole thesis.
