Research On Narratology Of Yijianzhi

YianJianZhi is one of the greatest works that was collected in the Southern Song Dynasty, on which HongMai, the author, spent sixty years. It is the biggest collection of novels on classical Chinese in ancient China. It collected plenty of folktales of Southern Song Dynasty. Yijianzhi has played an important role in the narratology study on Weird Novels in Song Dynasty and even in the whole ancient periods. The characters of the book are the multi-levels narrative structure, the multi-forms time deformation and the three-dimensional narrative space.Not only did the narration in Yijianzhi draw on the experience of the narrative traditions in historical biography and the features of Werid Novels , but also formed a unique character on narration. The theis is divided into three parts. The preface introduces HongMai's life, the writting and spreading of the book. In addition, this part includes the recalling of the academic history and the study methods and thoughts of the dissertation. The first chapter analyses the multi-levels narrative structure of the book in the views of the main body , methods and perspectives of narration. The second chapter focuses on the time-sequence and time-distance by the comparison between the happening time and the narrative time. The third chapter summarizes the three-dimensional narrative space of the book which involves complex human society, society-like hell, ideal wonderland and the overlap and shift of the above. The forth chapter illustrates the cultural context dominating the text, which is constructed by the common cultural views of people and the persuading purpose of HongMai.The narrative aesthetic tastes of Yijianzhi which pointed to pubilic and secular promoted the late Werid Novels to be prosperity and formed continued books of Yijianzhi. The stories of Yijianzhi whose stylistic was inherited by Werid Novels was the adequate sources for fictions and dramas.
