The officers' salary in ancient time, called "lu" or "fenglu", was given according to official position, in the Chinese ancient book the Chou Rituals', there, is a saying goes: "once Position set, thus salary obtained". The salary system, started from the West chou Dynasty, and it developed into a relatively perfect system. in ch'in and Han Dynasties. At the beginning of Northern wei, established by minority xianbei tuoba tribe, didn't lay such kind of salary system, because of battles and its primordial social habitude and lower development level. And to the rule of Emperor xiaowen, salary system emerged as the times required.There are some obsessions about officials' salary system in Northern wel, the first is the exact time to carry out the salary system., and the second is the amount of each level of officials' salary.This dissertation divided the period of Northern wel into there times, namely, the earlier period of Plngcheng, the middle and evening period of Plngcheng and the period of Luoyang according to the beginning of salary system in the eight year ofTaihe (484). and moving the capital Plngcheng City to Luoyang City And the dissertation flays emphasis on the salary system., which consist of income according to ranks and officials' stipend.In this paper, it brings forward that the officials' salary system, started from. Emperor Xianwen (466-471) , and finally carried out in local magistrates. To the eight year of Taihe (484) , Emperor xiaowen took the salary system, carried out in local magistrates to the whole officials' salary system. And since it is of great regret that the amount of officials' stipend in the Northern wei can't be substantiated, the dissertation conjectured that the amount of stipend...
