This paper, based on theories of interlanguage, probes into the errors made by South Korean students in studying Chinese Basic Characters (CBC). The characters are numbered 3697 in total for foreign student in elementary grade (Grade One) in teaching Chinese as foreign language. This amount is the evaluation index of CBC and the basis of CBC teaching, concluded from decades teaching experience and from statistics of many different language materials.Interlanguage is the core of errors analysis theory. The distinctive feature is that interlanguage is neither the native language nor the target language. As an independent language system for L2 learner, interlanguage includes those following the rules of target language and those violating rules. The errors analysis theory, which built on cognitive psychology, argues that errors are caused by 'interference of native language', 'overgeneralization', 'native culture', 'study strategy' etc.In the scope of teaching Chinese as foreign language, the studies focusing on CBC in a foreign country are rare. So this paper works over the South Korea students' acquisition of CBC by using the interlanguage theory, and analyses the error part and reasonable part.: The paper consists of five parts:Introduction: Introduce the stale of South Korea students in studying the Chinese Basic Characters.Chapter 1 Use the Interlanguage to study the weak aspect of CBC acquisition bySouth Korea students, mainly on the errors.Chapter 2 Study the good aspect of CBC acquisition by South Korea students.Chapter 3 Put forward the teaching hypothesis on the basis of previous studies. Give my advice on the acquisition of CBC, Vocabulary and Oral Chinese, aim at the weak part of acquisition of Chinese.Conclusion: Summary and generalization of the paper...
