Cognitive Studies Of Chinese Action Measure Words

The system of action measure words is one of the two parts that is made up to the system of measure word in Chinese.However,the former came into use much later than the measure words of nouns,and its contents are much less,so it was not the highlight in the research field.Since the 1990's,such situation has been changed.But till now,no one has put effort to action measure words from a cognitive angle of view.In this thesis,the writer put forward such viewpoint that the fundamental function of action measure words is to measure the quantity of action.On such basis,the writer uses the conception of dynamic process to describe the cognitive maps of action measure words.And then the writer analyses the signature of action measure words in such a process to reveal the relationship between cognitive function and the dynamic process.The thesis inherited the achievements of former researchers,as a consequence,the writer succeeded in revealing such a phenomenon that professional action measure words are totally diffenrent from borrowed action measure words .The former is a obturate system while the latter is a open system and is more productive and characterized.The writer analyses the forming pocess of the two kinds of measure words.The writer uses a totally new way to analyse the topic of such research. A view form cognitive psychology ,specially the cognitve map,is the keynote of this thesis.Technically,the thesis benefits a lot from the software Guoxue Baodian which is designed and producted by CNU.
