Objective:1. The study on the mental health status of military personnel under special operation settings, is to provide fundamental information for psychological intervene measures and for the database of military mental health archives.2. to study the effect of the psychological behavior training on the physical performance of recruits.Methods:1. SCL-90 was administrated to 1263 nuke soldiers, 361 naval ship soldiers and 753 artillerymen, and those results were not only respectively compared with the norms of general people of SCL-90, but with the military norms of SCL-90.3. 370 recruits were divided into two test groups and two control groups. Their scores of 3 items of physical performance before and after experiment were recorded and compared with each other.Results:1. Compared with the norms of general people of SCL-90, the scores of the military personnel from all the three types of special operation settings were significantly higher on each factor(P < 0.01). The same results were got except for the factor of somatization when compared with military norms. More detailedanalysis showed that the nuke soldier's mental health were most strongly impacted by the special operation settings. 2. The second study showed that test groups' improvement on those 3 items was significantly higher than control groups' (P < 0.01 ).Conclusions1. The mental health of military personnel is surely given negative impact by some special operation settings, especially by the highly closed settings.2. The physical performance of recruits can be effectively improved through psychological behavior training.
