Some Research On The Book Of Liang Dynasty

The Book of Liang Dynasty was written by Silian Yao, a historiographer of the early Tang dynasty. It is a comprehensive and original document on the history of the Liang Dynasty. But the previous work on the book is far away from enough, thus it is necessary to do more research in this subject.This article consists of four parts:1. We investigate the existing versions of the book in the introduction. We think that all the versions can be divided into three systems. The basic version that the Zhonghua Press used is possibly one of the versions in the Dian-Version System.2. We check and correct the errors in the version of the Zhonghua Press, including punctuations, words and historical facts in the first section of the first chapter.3. We study 12 difficult words in the book by getting the original meanings, revealing the new words' new meanings, and ascertaining the etymology including the transliteration of foreign language.4. According to the notes of ancient books, there are dozens of books about the history of the Liang dynasty that were written from the Liang dynasty to the Tang dynasty. Unfortunately, most of them have been lost. We make some research on the books, which are called The book of Liang Dynasty and The Code of Liang Dynasty, in the second chapter. We describe the history of these books briefly and collect 38 missing pieces for The book of Liang Dynasty and 44 missing pieces forThe Code of Liang Dynasty. At the same time, we also make some collation work on those missing in order to complete the historical studies.
