Feeling of inadequacy is currently little researched at home and abroad, expereally to the undergraduates what is almost blank. So In this study, college students as subjects, I explored the status and deep relationship of college students between the personality, feeling of inadequacy, and social adaptation. So as to help college students to adapt to future community better to provide some theoretical guidance and practical basis.In this study I chose China College Students'Personality Scale (CCSPS) conducted by Wang Dengfeng, feeling of inadequacy Scale (FIS) revised by Fleming and College Students'Social Adaptation conducted by FangConghui. This study conducted a questionnaire survey to 880 college Students selected from Hebei Institute of Architectural Engineering in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Normal University,Hebei University of Science and Technology and Hebei Economics and Trade University in ShiJiazuang. Spss 16.0 for windows software package was adopted to analysis the data. Selected the analysis of reliability, descriptive statistics, the difference test, correlation and regression analysis, path analysis statistics. The findings were as follows.1. Personality traits in general are at the middle level; The three factors of straightforward, rigorous, Emotion showed significant differences between male and female students; The three dimensions of active, tough, rigorous in terms of students participating in school activities showed significant differences; Straightforward, altruism, Emotion, easy-goingness in terms of students participating in school activities showed significant differences; Rigorous dimensions in terms of the educational level of parents showed significant differences.2. Feeling of inadequacy in terms of the learning ability were better than others; The three dimensions of self-esteem, appearance and physical showed significant gender differences; Self-esteem, social confidence, learning ability, physical dimension and the total average degree in terms of students participating in school activities showed very significant differences; Learning ability in terms of education level of parents showed significant differences.3. Environmental adaptation of students were better than others; Only in terms of psychological adjustment showed significant gender differences; Learning, future, psychological, interpersonal dimensions and the total average degree in terms of students participating in school activities showed very significant differences; The differences of social adapted dimensions in terms of education level of parents were not significant. 4. Active, tough, easy-going and all of the social adjustment factors and total scores showed very significant positive correlation. Addition to straightforward showed very significant positive correlation with interpersonal adjustment factor, and significant positive correlation with social adjustment scores, the correlation were not significant with other factors. The correlation between rigorous and interpersonal adjustment factors was not significant. But rigorous and other factors showed very significant positive correlation. The positive correlation between altruism, future and interpersonal adjustment was significant. The correlation between altruism and other factors was not significant. Emotion showed significant positive correlation with environmental adaptation and psychological adjustment. The correlation between emotion, learning adaptation, future adjustment, interpersonal adjustment and total scores was not significant. The five factors of feeling of inadequacy scale and total score a sense showed extremely significant positive correlation with the five factors of social adjustment scale. Active, tough, easy-going showed extremely significant positive correlation with the five factors of feeling of inadequacy scale and total. Rigorous and self-esteem showed extremely significant positive correlation. Rigorous was significant positive correlation with the total scores of feeling of inadequacy. Emotion and self-esteem showed significant positive correlation. straightforward and social self-confidence factor showed significant positive correlation, but the correlation with other factors showed not significant. The negative correlation between altruism and social self-confidence and the total score of feeling of inadequacy was significant. The correlation between altruism and other factors was not significant.5. Personality had a impact on social adaptation by feeling of inadequacy. Feeling of inadequacy playde a partial mediator role.
