The Research On Nankai Early Drama

The Nankai drama movement plays a very important role in the history of Chinese drama.This thesis study on the early plays of Nankai,put it into the Chinese drama development process to highlight the effect in the period of Chinese modern dramas rising.The paper consists of four chapters except the introduction and conclusion.The first chapter analyzes the background and conditions of Nankai dramatics,the change of drama idea and the prevailing of students dramatics had created a good public opinion that the dramatic activities was effective in enlightening people and the social reformation.Zhang boling also participate in the Nankai dramatics activities.The New Theatrical troupe which was well-organized and clear responsibility was found in 1914.It has provided an organizational guarantee for the activities.The second chapter focus on the levels of thought of the main works which staged during this period.The Nankai early plays became value the social reality questions than the meaning of morals education,the creation method of realism replace the reunion pattern.As the same time,the images system also updated,more and more New Ager and ordinary people appeared on the stage,which promoted the change of drama ideas.The third chapter introduces the artistic achievement of Nankai early dramatic activities.In the explorative phase for over a decade,it developed the dramatization,direction and staging system which was rigorous.There had clear and specific requests in erery aspect of the drama.The stage effects becoming valued,the constantly explore of structure enhanced the aesthetic value of works.The last chapter summarize the theory achievement of the Nankai Early play.Both the social trends and its own practice made the direction of realism,the tragedy consciousness also reflected in those works,the first modern drama The New Village Head was born on that basis.During the period of Nankai Early drama,the artistry of the works have been recognized,which was the different characteristic from other art forms,it alao provides a basis for the prosperity of the Nankai drama in the following two decades.
