PurposeObservation of GUDIandKAITIAN-acupuncture treatment of mild to moderate vascular dementia (Vascular Dementia, VD) treatment technology efficacy and safety. To Western Hydergine Tablets (Topiramate mesylate drug base) as the control for broad applications in clinical scientific evidence.Data and Methods1. The subject of reference to the Chinese Medical Association recommended in 2002, "vascular dementia diagnosis, syndromes and efficacy of assessment standards" develop a Western diagnostic criteria and a basis for a clear diagnosis of TCM syndrome classification. Combined mini-mental state examination (MMSE), instrumental activities of daily living scale (Activity of daily living, IADL), vascular dementia Syndrome Scale (SDSVD), by patients who agreed to meet the inclusion criteria of cases; included in the study into account 48 cases, according to the order of treatment method, were divided into acupuncture group,16 patients in control group 16 cases, needle drug group in 16 cases. 2. Acupuncture group received GUDIandKAITIAN-acupuncture treatment,5 times a week. Acupuncture group on the basis of the acupuncture group was added TIANDIJINGWAN(made by the Wuhan City Chinese Medicine Hospital Pharmacy) orally, every 6,3 times a day. The control group was treated with Hydergine tablets per 2 tablets 3 times a day. The above three groups were continuously treated for 12 weeks, monthly follow-up 1.3. Observe the acupuncture group, acupuncture treatment group and control group patients before and after treatment in the treatment of cognitive function, activities of daily living, related symptoms and integral change in traditional Chinese medicine, treatment records before and after treatment once a month, continuous treatment for three months on a regular basis fill out case report form.4. After pre-treatment and treatment records of a general physical examination of all projects (ie, body temperature, respiration, pulse, blood pressure), blood, urine, stool, heart, liver, kidney function, electrocardiogram for safety observation. Treatment before and after treatment on a monthly mini-mental state examination table, instrumental activities of daily living scale and vascular dementia assessed Syndrome Scale scoring until the end of treatment in order to observe the effect.5. Statistical analysis:The SPSS13 software statistics. (1) The descriptive statistical analysis:qualitative indicators to frequency table, percentage or the composition ratio of description; quantitative indicators for mean, standard deviation, or median, lower quartile (Q1), upper quartile (Q3) Description. (2) comparative analysis of three groups:qualitative data using chi-square test, t test with quantitative data. Repetition of a multi-point measurement data are used repeated measures data analysisResults Three groups of 48 patients have all completed course of treatment, compliance and good, does not appear off, remove, exit cases. 1. Three groups of patients after treatment the total effect of the analysis, acupuncture group, the total efficiency of 60.42%, markedly effective rate was 25.00%; the control group, the total efficiency of 50.00%, markedly effective rate was 18.75%; Acupuncture group, the total efficiency of 79.17%, markedly effective rate 41.67%. Which acupuncture group compared with the control group was no statistically significant effect (P> 0.05); acupuncture and Chinese herbs and acupuncture group were group and control group was statistically significant efficacy compared (P <0.05).2. Three groups of patients after the treatment efficacy of cognitive function through the mini-mental state examination scores compared to analyze the acupuncture group, the total efficiency of 50.00%, markedly effective rate was 18.75%; the control group, the total efficiency of 50.00%, markedly effective rate was 12.50%; Acupuncture Group The total effective rate 75.00%, markedly effective rate was 31.25%. Which acupuncture group compared with the control group was no statistically significant effect (P> 0.05); acupuncture treatment group and the acupuncture group were the control group have more significant effects (P<0.05).3. Activities of daily living compared acupuncture group, the total efficiency of 62.50%, markedly effective rate was 18.75%; the control group, the total efficiency of 56.25%, markedly effective rate was 12.50%; Acupuncture group, the total efficiency of 75.00%, markedly effective rate was 37.50%. Which acupuncture group compared with the control group was no statistically significant effect (P> 0.05); acupuncture and Chinese herbs and acupuncture group were group and control group was statistically significant efficacy compared (P<0.05).4. Related symptoms in traditional Chinese medicine, to Differentiation of vascular dementia scores for comparison, the acupuncture group, the total efficiency of 68.75%, markedly effective rate 37.50%,12.50% cure rate; the control group, the total efficiency of 50.00%, markedly effective rate 31.25%, the cure rate 12.50%; Acupuncture group, the total efficiency of 87.50%, markedly effective rate 56.25%,25.00% cure rate.3 The total effective analysis by Ridit acupuncture group compared with the control group there was a significant difference (P<0.01); acupuncture treatment group compared with the control group there was a significant difference (P<0.01); needle drug group and acupuncture group There was a significant difference (P<0.05).5. Safety and adverse reactions analysis, three groups of patients before and after treatment no significant changes in vital signs, treatment before and after the three groups of blood, urine, stool, heart, liver function and no significant changes in ECG.Acupuncture group and the acupuncture treatment group no significant changes in renal function, no adverse reaction; control group,10 cases occurred in patients with transient nausea and stomach discomfort,5 patients had dizziness and chest tightness occurred in 3 cases of mild kidney dysfunction. Adverse situation in the acupuncture group, acupuncture treatment group compared with the control group there were significant differences (P<0.05).ConclusionThe clinical trial studies have shown that GUDIandKAITIAN-acupuncture treatment of mild to moderate vascular dementia efficacy sure, with the western medicine Hydergine Tablets overall efficacy similar to. But the GUDIandKAITIAN-acupuncture treatment in improving mild to moderate vascular dementia related to traditional Chinese medicine symptoms is superior to Western medicine Hydergine tablets, and completely non-toxic side effects, no adverse reactions, compared with Hydergine tablets more secure and more reliable. The GUDIandKAITIAN-acupuncture treatment with traditional Chinese medicine preparationTIANDIJINGWAN treatment of mild to moderate vascular dementia efficacy is superior to simple acupuncture group and control group efficacy.
