Objective: To investigate the indications and efficacy of using oral mucosa as graft to repair complicated hypospadias and anterior urethral stricture. Methods: In the last two years, oral mucosa as graft was applied to reconstruct the defect urethra for 22 cases with complicatedhypospadias and urethral stricture. Results: 22 cases, 20 cases achieved a successful operation, the success rate of 90%, showing a satisfied penile appearance, urethral opening at the original site of glans.almost normal urine streaming.No difficulty of voiding, and no urinary fistula.With 1-10month following up, All cases with anterior urethral stricture, their maximum uroflow rate were 14~40ml/s, an average of 29m/s.2 cases developed urethral fistula because of wound infection, postoperatively, and got successful repair after 6 months. Conclusions: Complicated hypospadias and anterior urethral stricture, lacking of local tissue, are the indications for appling oral mucosa as graft to reconstruct the neo-urethra and a good clinical efficacy can be received by applying this method...
