| Objective To evaluate the use of buccal musoca in the treatment of longer anterior urethral stricture. Methods Between 2012.1~2017.12,we treated 42 cases of anterior urethral stricture in staged procedure.Stage 1 includes the excision of the narrow urethra and the reconstruction of the urethra applying buccal mucosa sheet or tube grafting.Stage 2 we perform urethra anastomosis and transfer the scrotal flap for coverage, and apply suprapubic puncture cystostomy at the same time. Results We successfully followed up 38 of 42 cases,follow-up time ranges from 5 months to 12 months, mean follow-up was 8 months;2 patients complication occurred, all of them were urethra restricture. One patient’s urethral stricture located in the anastomosis, stricture length was 0.5 cm,recieved excision of the narrow urethra and anastomosis;another patient ’s stricture located in the external urethral meatus, recieved expension of the external urethral meatus;with proper treatment, all of them recoverd. No urethral fistula or penile curvature was observed. Conclusion A successful treatment of long anterior urethral stricture can be achieved with the excision of affected urethra, the reconstruction of defect urethra with buccal mucosa flap, and covering the new urethra by transfering the scrotal flap. |
