Studies On Chemical Constituents Of Ainsliaea Macrocephala (Mattf.) Y.C. Tseng

The genus Ainsliaea belongs to Compositae family and consists of around 70 species. Among them, 44 species are distributed in the south regions of China, such as Sichuan and Yunan provinces. Most of them have been used as a folk medicine for the treatment of rhumatism, traumatic injuries, edema, stomachache.So far, several sesquiterpenes, triterpenes and flavonoids, have been isolated from this genus. Ainsliaea macrocephala is a medicinal herb growing mainly in south of China and no phytochemical studies on this plant have been reported. In this dissertation, we investigate the chemical constituents of A. macrocephala systematically. 48 compounds were isolated from A. macrocephala by silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, preparative HPLC and preparative TLC and spectral analysis (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, 2D NMR, EI-MS,ESI-MS,HRESI-MS, UV and IR). Among them, AM-11, AM-34, AM-39, and AM-41 were new compounds.
