Runmuling Granules Treatment Clinical Study Of Dry Eye

Dry eye syndrome is a common clinical ophthalmology ocular surface disease, which is the result of tear film instability caused by abnormal the quality and quantity of tear dynamics.Dry eye has discomfort eye symptoms such as eye-driness, photophobia, foreign body sensation,asthenopia and so on.Resulting in ocular surface tissue lesions characterized by a general term for diseases. Dry eye has a high incidence and has no effective treatment now. We make runmuling by the way of analysis of the clinical data of dry eye and combination of clinical experience and research its efficacy for treatment of dry eye. We also provide quantitative evidence of laboratory for dry eye clinical classification, quantitative diagnosis and disease prognosisth by the way of carrying out tear lactoferrin measurements.Objective:To investigate the effects of Runmuling granules on dry eye.Methods:Patients with dry eye aged 18 to 70 were randomly divided into Runmuling group and placebo group,compare the effectiveness of Runmuling by the way of analysing the result of the data statistically and observing corneal staining, tear film break-up time, Schirmer I test and the subjective symptoms.Results:prolonged tear film break -up time,Schirmer I test showed increased tear production and obviously improved dry eye symptoms (eye-driness,red eye, foreign body sensation,asthenopia)after Runmuling treatment and difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); Tear film break-up time and dry eye symptom were statistically significant between two groups.There is no statistically significant difference between two groups in Schirmer-I test,corneal staining,improving red eye and foreign body sensation,increasing tear lactoferrin.Conclusion:Runmuling granules is in obviously effective on treatment of dry eye.
