Background Bronchial asthma is a global serious health problem as a chronic inflammatory disease. It can effect everyone from children to the old.In morden theory of asthma, asthma is chronic airway inflammation with characteristics of intermittent and reversible airway obstruction, bronchial hyperresponsiveness, lymphocytes, eosinophil infiltration of airway submucosal. C-reactive protein is the body inflammation, infection or injury arising from an acute phase protein, which suggests incidence of many inflammatory response, CRP is a reliable reflection of inflammation and sensitive indicators.Cyclophilin A (CyPA) is a new leukocyte chemoattractant ,which has shown to elicit in?ammatory responses, characterized by a rapid influx of leukocytes. The study indicates that CyPA expressive level had increaved in sepsis, acute pulmonary edema, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lapus ery thematosus etc nineteen kinds of diseases, and the serum CyPA level had positive correlation with the servious degree of diseases. Based upon these evidence ,we suspect that CyPA might Play an important role in the inflammatory response course of asthma. Objective To detect serum Cyclophilin A,c-reactive protein (CRP) in patient with Asthma and investigate its clinical significance.Method The serum CyPA and CRP level of 30 patients with asthma at acute exacerbation and at stationary stage from 2007 to 2009 clinic or hospital patients in my hospital .28 health people were measured by immunoturbidimetry and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Comparison of bronchial asthma patients at acute exacerbation, at stationary stage and normal serum levels of CyPA, and compare C-reactive protein in patients with bronchial asthma at acute exacerbation and at stationary stage.Result (1).The serum CyPA level of asthma patients at acute exacerbation was significantly higher than that of patients at stationary stage and the health people ,(2.76±0.32)ng/ml,(0.88±0.10)ng/ml,(0.46±0.04)ng/ml,compard with health people ,the serum CyPA level was no significant statistical difference (2). Compared with the patients with stationary stage of asthma group, the serum CRP level was increased at patients with acute exacerbation of asthma (13.14mg/l±1.66mg/l vs 2.27mg/l±0.22mg/l, p<0.05).(3). Serum CyPA level in acute patient was signifcantly higer than that in stationary patient and normal control(2.76ng/ml vs 0.88ng/ml vs 0.46ng/ml,p<0.05).The serum CyPA level in acute patient had significant positive correlation with CRP level(r=0.697,p<0.05).Conclusion CyPA may contribute to the acute onset of asthma and may be a potential therapeutic target.
