| Objectives: The objective of this research is to describe the status of Post Training for GPs in Fujian Province, to evaluate the training effect, to figure out the process of the program. Listing the existing problem, and put forward the improve measurements. At last we give suggestions to the cultivation of General Practice personnel.Methods: Quantitative and qualitative methods are applied to carry out survey. The descriptive and analytic methods, including Spearman correlation analysis, Pearson correlation analysis are employed to analyze the data. We apply Kirkpatrick Model to conduct the effect evaluation, and learn from 360-Degree Feedback to access the transformation of student's behavior.Results: The five section's research results are listed in the followingSection I: In the last 10 years, the system of Post Training for GPs in Fujian Province run better and better under continuous exploring and research.4000 GPs had been cultivated and send to serve in the basic health institution. This helps to release the tension of lacking of GPs in the basic health development. But, the total number is still not enough to meet the development in the new phase. And the number of the students who have attended Post Training in not balanced in the area distribution. In the system, the supervision of self-study is missing which will influence the training effect. And there is no uniform criterion in the assessment of practice training phase.Section II: The demand analysis shows that 96.8% of the students are willing to participate in the Post Training for GPs. And the crucial factor which affects the student's willing is the practicability lies in the training program. More and more students emphasize on the cultivation of General Practice thinking.51.5% students aims to learn the knowledge of general practice. But the conflict between training and working job is still sharp. It is the principal factor that the leaders take into consideration before they decide to send their stuff to the program or not. Section III: On the basis of 3-layers effect evaluation, we made the conclusions below:1. The overall evaluation of the training program is pretty good. 85.4% students think it is helpful to them. More and more people realize the importance of the program.91.4% students are serious with the training course. Few people are pleased with the arrangement of the room and board.2. The short-term effect of the program turns out to be pretty good. The passing rate of the examination rises from 47.4% to 90.9%.The final score has positive relation with the education level, and negative relation with the age. But it has nothing to do with technical level title. The main factor that influences the score of the examination is the activity of the students.3. In the assessment of student's behavior after they graduated from post training program one year later, we receive the universal identification with the program from the directors and the students. Subjectively, they admit that the effect of training has positive influence on their behaviors. Through the training program, students realize the importance of basic public health. But the general practice thinking is still weak in the medical treatment.Section IV: On the basis of the status and the effect evaluation, we have some suggestions for the training program, including enhancing the practice training phase; Let continuing education plays supplementary role; Strengthen the teaching staff training, etc.Section V: The prospect for the cultivation of GPs: On the basis of the college medical education, we recommend to boost the construction of the education system of GP. The standardization training project will be the principal part in the training system to improve the quality of the GP. Take the Post Training Program as the solid foundation, and increase the number of GP for basic health institution. Take the continuing education as supplementary measurement, and continuously improve the quality of GP.
