Efficacy Evaluation Of Improved Mingtiangu Treatment For Nervous Tinnitus

ObjectiveTinnitus is the most commom pertinacious disease.Nowdays, there are manny clinical treatment investigated. However there are still no conclusive methods on clinic to treat tinnitus until now. Based on the current approaches in treating tinnitus, with the basic idea to embody the characteristc well as to exploit the advantages of chinese medicine. In this subjust, we try to assess the massage manipulation of Mingtiangu on treating tinnitus. Providing a chineses medicine therapy for tinnitus.Methods70 tinnitus cases were chosen form ENT of Guangdong Province hospital of chinese medicine since April,2010 to January,2011. All patients were randomized equally into treatment group and control group. There were 19 males and 16 females in treatment group with average age of 33.89±11.40(y), and average course of 16.17±25.59 (m). There were 14 males and 21 females in control group with average age of 38.11±13.607 (y) and average course of 19.67±36.965 (m).he basic line on age, sex, course, and severity of tinnitus were not statistical different(P>0.05). Patients from control group were treated by Mingtiangu, while the control group were treated by masking therapy. Observed the clinical effective and relevant factors.Results(1)Total effective rates were 80.0% in treatment group with cure rates of 20.0%, and 82.9% in control group with cure rates of 8.6%. The difference were proven non-statistical significant. (2)Tinnitus loudness, THI grades and VAS grades before and after the study of two groups were not statistical significant. (3)Relevant factors:patients were divided into 3 groups by tinnitus'frequency of high, middle and low, effective rates were no statistical different. (4)According to chinese medicine differentiation, there were six types of them, also no significant difference were shown among. (5) Relevance were observed among tinnitus loudness, THI grades and VAS grades during the study.Conclusion(1)Total effective rates showed that massage manipulation of Mingtiangu was not better than masking therapy in this study. (2)Low cure rates suggested that tinnitus cannot be completely cured by clinical therapy. Tinnitus which can only be controlled or relieved was closely related to psychological factor. (3)Tinnitus loudness, THI grades and VAS grades were closely related and should be comprehended on evaluation of severity of tinnitus.
