Objective: To develop and evaluate the reliability and the validity of the Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) self-management behavior scale; To investigate and analyze Self-management behavior and its related factors of hospitalized Patients with CHD in Xinjiang. Methods:1)The initial questionnaire was developed based on extensively reviewed, referred to domestic and abroad chronic disease self-management behavior scale, and suggestions from experts and patients. We used to test CHD patients by factor analysis, pearson correlation.2) Based on chronic disease self-efficacy, PSSSand self-designed self-management scale to evaluate self-management behavior and related factors on 520 CHD patients of 2 grade three hospital from March to October in 2010.We used to test CHD patients byttest, analysis of variance, pearson correlation and stepwise regression analysis. Results:1)The reliability and the validity of CHD patients was internal consistency (Cronbach'sα=0.852), the test-retest correlation coefficient (ICC=0.832), the content validity index (CVI=0.935), the correlation coefficients between dimensionsand overall of the scale (r=0.712~0.774). Accum contribution rate was 48.436%.2) The level of self-management of CHD patients was at moderate level. The score of self management in the cohort of patients was (68.88±9.36); The results of Pearson correlation analysis showed that there were correlations among the score of self-management behavior, self-efficacy, social support and SAQ; There related factors of CHD patients self-management behavior were duration of CHD, job, age, health education, treatment satisfaction, self-efficacy and social support by stepwise regression analysis. Conclusion:1) The self-management behavior scale developed in the study has good reliability and validity.2) The self-management behavior of CHD patients is poor and it is affected by many facts. So we should improve the level of self-management by directly intervention, delay and controlled complications and improve quality of life.
