Based On The Literature Of Modern Chinese Acupuncture For Disease Research

Objective:To obtain the dominant disease entities of nervous system diseases by acupuncture therapy through literature study.Method:We acquire the clinical documents of nervous system diseases by acupuncture and moxibustion therapy from the CBMdisc and CNKI between 1978 and 2008. The disease entities and frequency-time of reported papers for each disease and syndrome were calculated. Then, the documents were classified into 5 levels based on information extraction and analysis and evaluation of overall quality. Finally, according to judgment standard of evidence grades, the disease menu was divided into 4 grades.Result:(1) The nervous system diseases menu of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy is 71, including 55 diseases of western medicine,11 symptoms of western medicine and 5 TCM syndromes.(2) The total number of documents is 9037. There are 1 piece of gradeâ… ,310 pieces of gradeâ…¡,2939 pieces of gradeâ…¢,4569 pieces of gradeâ…£and 1218 pieces of gradeâ…¤(3) The nervous system diseases menu of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy including one piece of the first grade,28 pieces of the second,22 pieces of the third and 20 of the forth.Conclusion:The strongly recommended diseases of nervous system diseases treated by acupuncture and moxibustion therapy:migraine. The mainly recommended diseases of nervous system diseases treated by acupuncture and moxibustion therapy:facial palsy, Bell's palsy,cerebrovascular disease,ischialgia,sciatica,headache,facial spasm,post zoster neuralgia,vertigo or dizziness and giddiness,infantile cerebral palsy,aphasia,epilepsy,pseudo bulbar paralysis,dysphasia,neuralgia paraesthetica,paraplegia and tetraplegia,trigeminal neuralgia,vascular/neuropathic headache,occipital neuralgia,paralysis agitans, Parkinson's disease,vertebro-basilar artery syndrome,carpal tunnel syndrome,tension-type headache,motor neuron disease,sleep apnoea,obstructive,hyperpathia,Guillain-Barre syndrome,superior colonial nerves disease ataxia cerebellum,persistent vegetative status.
