Comparison Of The Present Situations Of Acupuncture And Moxibustion Among China Mainland And Taiwan Region

The purpose of this research is to compare the present situations of acupunctureand moxibustion between China mainland and Taiwan region To understand thepresent situations of acupuncture and moxibustion have any differents between themand find the causes. After that we expected to look for some methods to improve.Data collected from January in 2001 to December in 2006. Results shows thedifferents of the present situations of acupuncture and moxibustion among Chinamainland and Taiwan region including: medical institution, staff, clinical application,education, research, policies and regulations, medical insurance system andassociations of Acupuncture-Moxibustion.Speaking about medical institution, Acupuncture and moxibustion departmentgradually reduces in china mainland, but it is an essential unit at Chinese medicalhospital in Taiwan region. Both of China mainland and Taiwan region medicalinstitutions have standard of establishment, but they also deficient the standard ofestablishment about Acupuncture and moxibustion department. The other different isthat disposable acupuncture and moxibustion appliances must be used in Taiwan, butit is not in China mainland. In China mainland, most of medical institution funds come from government. Nonetheless, most of medical institution funds come frompersonal financial group.in Taiwan. The charge for acupuncture is 4 Yuan in Chinamainland, it is 150-500 Yuan in Taiwan.Most of differents of the present situations of acupuncture and moxibustionamong China mainland and Taiwan region are show at staff, clinical application,education, research, policies and regulations, medical insurance system andassociations of Acupuncture-Moxibustion.The results could be applied on Acupuncture-Moxibustion program incampus.and clinical.
