Clinic Study On The Effect Of Electro-acupuncture Combine Ear Acupuncture On Chronic Tension-type Headache

ObjectiveObserve the curative effect of Electro-acupuncture combine ear acupuncture on chronic tension headache.MethodsUse the Method of Randomized Controlled Trials,60 patients with chronic tension-type headache were randomly divided into two groups:one treated with electro-acupuncture as control group, and the other treated with electro-acupuncture combine ear-acupuncture as treatment group,30 cases in each group. There are 9 Men and 20 women in treatment group; Their average age was 47.00±13.68; And the disease course is 5.05±2.65 years averagely.13 men and 17 women in control group, average age was 46.67±13.46, the course is 4.99±2.86 years averagely. There is no significant difference between these two groups on gender, age and course by Statistical analysis (P>0.05). And two groups were comparable. When they are in the hospital at the first time, each patient should writ a headache diary according to their headache 1 month before which should record the frequencies, level and duration of every headache. For control group, acupuncture on Fongchi, Beihui, Yinton and Taiyang mainly. And for the treatment group, except above points, combine with ear-acupuncture, acupoint is Neck, Occipital, Frontal, Heart, Liver, Shenmen, Endocrine, Subcortex. Each group cure one time a day,5 times a week,2 weeks a course,2 courses in all. The two groups before treatment and 2 courses later, headache diary method is used to record their monthly headache frequency, every level and duration of headaches. And let the patients record the headache diary within 1 month after treating, and calculate headache index after the end of follow-up. ResultBoth the electro-acupuncture & ear-acupuncture treatment of chronic tension-type headache and only electro-acupuncture could significantly reduce the headache after 2 course. The total effective rate of treatment group and control group were 86.67% and 83.33%, but the effect of the two group is the same (P>0.05); One month later, electro-acupuncture combine ear-acupuncture treatment of chronic tension-type headache was significantly better than electro-acupuncture, the total effective rate were 90.00% and 76.67%, The two groups has significant difference in efficacy(P<0.05).ConelusionIn the short term, both electro-acupuncture and electro acupuncture & ear-acupuncture can relieve headaches, but the effect of the two groups is the same. After treatment, compared with electro-acupuncture, electro acupuncture combine ear-acupuncture can significantly reduce headache frequency and recurrence and can improve the clinical efficacy. The reason may be stimulate the ear-points achieve the overall adjustment, so that the body reaches a balance of yin and yang, blood and Qi, and make a long incubation period. This method is simple, easy, painless.It is worthy to be popularized.
