Clinical Research On Acupuncture Plus Moxibustion Apparatus Therapy In Treatment Of Lumbar Muscle Strain Due To Cold-damp

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical therapeutic efficacy and superiority of acupuncture plus moxibustion apparatus therapy in treatment of damp-cold type of lumbar muscle strain (LMS). By firstly exploring the mechanism of moxibustion apparatus therapy treating LMS and observing the therapeutic efficacy, it provides the necessary basis for the clinical practice in the treatment of LMS.MethodsAmong the patients who have suffered from LMS, those in accordance with the TCM syndrome diagnosis as the cold-damp type of LMS were randomly assigned into treatment group and control group, with 30 cases in each group. In the treatment group, acupuncture plus moxibuxtion apparatus therapy for 30 minutes was applied, with the temperature about 45℃. In the control group, acupuncture plus TDP irradiation therapy for 30 minutes was used. The treatments in both the two groups were applied once other day, with five treatments being a therapeutic session, continuously for three sessions. Before and after the treatments, the symptom scores and the VAS scores in both two groups were observed and the therapeutic efficacies of the two therapies were compared and analyzed.Results With the statistical management, there was no significant difference of sexes, ages, illness duration between the two groups (P>0.05), indicating (?)rability. In the treatment group,3 cases were clinically cured,22 (?)cbviously improved,5 were effective and no case was ineffective, wjth the total effective rate as 100%. In the control group,1 case was clinically cured,13 were obviously improved,13 were effective and 3 cases were ineffective, with the total effective rate as 90%. With the statisical management, after the treatments, there was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05), with the therapeutic efficacy of the treatment group superior to that of the control group. With the statistical management of the VAS scores before and after the treatments, there was significantly different between the two groups (P<0.05), (?)ating the therapeutic effects of symptom improvement and pain relief (?) treatment group is better than that in the control group.
