Objective: To examine the clinical effects of HE’ Snake Moxibustion in the treatmentof cold-damp back muscle fasciitis tape,in order to provide clinical data of moxibustion forcuring this disease.Methods: Randomly divide the sixty eligible patients into two groups, the thirty patientsin treatment group were applied the HE’ Snake Moxibustion treatment, while the thirtypatiens in control group with pure acupuncture of cold-damp back fasciitis. Clinical effects,Visual analogue scale (VAS) and Oswestry disability index (ODI) were used to evaluate theeffect of HE’Snake Moxibustion after three courses’treatment.Results: In the treatment group,9patients were fully cured and19cases felt better,2case with no effect, with a general efficiency rate of93.3%; In the control group,4patientswere cured and20felt bettered,6had little improvement, with a general efficiency rate of80.0%. Comparing these two groups, the differences have a statistical significance (P<0.05).After treatment,VAS in treatment group is2.87±1.25, while5.33±1.57in control group, thedifference is statistical significant (P<0.01). ODI in treatment group was13.2±11.3, which isless than control group (22.4±14.2), and the difference was also statistical significant(P<0.01). With the treatment course increased, the score of pain was decreasing (P<0.01),what’s more, compared to control group, there was a sharp drop in treatment group (P<0.01).Conclusions: Clinically,compared to traditional acupuncture treatment, HE’ SnakeMoxibustion Treatment achieve a better effect in curing the patients with cold-damp backfasciitis, moreover, it can also relieves pain and improves dysfunction of movement resultedfrom this disease.
