Background:With the development of industrialization and urbanization, transient population settlement has been growing in the periphery of megapolis since 1990. Transient population in village-in-city is the main part, which has aroused substantial issues and concerns regarding the environmental change and related implications on population health. Village-in-city is a new and universal phenomenon during urbanization in our country. It differs from modern cities and traditional village, so this paper puts forward the problems different from other communities. Our project aims to explore the relationship between health and the environment in village-in-city.Objective:By surveying the environmental pollution and residents'basic sanitation in Fuhai Street Y community in Kunming, combined with the accessibility of health services and facilities for public use of target communities, this project learns about relevant environment-related problems of village-in-city residents, especially infectious diseases and the risk factors of the prevalence of infectious diseases, which will provide theoretical support for health promotion. Methods:Using case study approach, through literature review, data collection, personal in-depth interviews and questionnaires of the selected target communities to obtain research. Results:The findings revealed that because of special social causes, intricate internal structure and complex composition of village-in-city members, various forms and various types of environmental health problems occur. The study found that environment-related health risks mainly lie in the following three aspects in Village-in-the-city.1) Poor sanitation, and difference exists between local and outside residents.2) Serious environmental pollution which is similar to environmental pollution in rural areas.3) Residents there have a higher risk of infecting disease. However, there are no effective measures that can fundamentally solve these problems.Suggestion:Government should realize the health issues of Village-in-the-city residents from the aspects of humanism, people's livelihood, and sustainable development. Through resource integration and optimization of investment, improve their basic living environment, enhance awareness of the health of residents, enhance the utilization and accessibility of public health facilities, thus reduce health risks, and enhance the overall health of Village-in-city residents. Finally, achieve the grand goal of health for all.
