| Objective:To observe the effect of Guanyin mixture on Plasma VIP of Anorexia patients and probe deeply into therapies and fundamentals of Guanyin mixture applied to child anorexia. Furthermore, it is farther expected to lay the foundation for developing new drug.Methods:1.experiment:Find sixty healthy and grade SPF SD rats, randomly separated them into five groups, namely normal group,model group,masculine group(the group of Shenlingbaizhu mixture),the high-dose group and small-dose of Guanyin mixture, each group containing twelve rats. The normal group was fed on conventional mash; the rest group simulated the main course of anorexia in child, adopting the tailor-made mash which made from Shouchuan Wang simulation method to feed the rats for three weeks. After the model was made successfully, they began to treat and spend three weeks on them. After treatment, note the changes of the food intake and weight of each group, take the blood from the abdominal main artery of the rats in each group, measure the amount of the plasma VIP in rats with RIA technology.2.Clinical observation:Select 42 children who suffered from lung and spleen deficiency of Infantile Anorexia, divided them into two groups (the test/treatment group and the control group) randomly. The test group takes Guanyin mixture and the control group takes Shenlingbaishu mixture for one month respectively, then observe each group's symptom changes before and after treatment. Meanwhile, collect limosis vein blood before medicine taking and after one month medicine taking when morning wake-up, measure the contents of Plasma VIP with RIA technology.Results:1.experiment:The weight and food intake decreased obviously in every model group, the distinction have the statistic regularity compared with the normal group(P<0.01); the content of Plasma VIP in model group decreased, the distinction had statistic regularity compared with the normal group(P<0.05). The concentration of Plasma VIP which was treated by Guanyin mixture was lower than that in the model group, the distinction had statistic regularity when the high-dose and the small-dose groups compared with the modal group (P<0.05, P<0.01), and the high-dose group was more close to the normal group. Neither the small-dose and positive group decrease to the normal group level, the distinction between the two dose group had no statistic regularity when compared with the normal group.2.Clinical observation:In Guanyin mixture group, recover ones (3&),positive ones (14&), effective ones (4&), and invalid ones (1&), total positive rate 63.64%; In Shenlingbaizhu mixture group, recover ones (0&),positive ones (8&), effective ones (11&), and invalid ones (1&), total positive rate 40.00%. There is statistical significance in comparing the curative effect between two groups after treatment (P<0.05), hints that the effect of Guanyin mixture treatment on lung and spleen deficiency of Infantile Anorexia is superior to Shenlingbaizhu mixture. TCM groups after treatment than before treatment dropped points, there were significant differences (P<0.01),but the treatment group decreased more significantly points, between the two groups, there were significant differences (P<0.05).After treatment, the plasma VIP concentrations than before treatment, There were significant differences(P<0.01),however, the decline in the treatment group were significantly more, compared with the control group, There were significant differences (P<0.05)Conclusion:1.Guanyin mixture can improve the situation of Children's Anorexia (lung and spleen deficiency syndrome) effectively, and increase children's appetite and food intake.2.Guanyin mixture could decrease the content of plasma VIP of anorexia patients effectively and its affect is superior to that of Shenlingbaizhu mixture.3.It can be primarily presumed that the function of Guanyin mixture on infantile anorexia is to regulate the secretion of plasma VIP, the increase of which is one of the causes of infantile anorexia.
