Kindergarten Physical Environment Status Analysis With A Hygiene Vision

The childhood development and children's healthy growth are closely related to the physical environment of the kindergarten. To provide a reasonable physical environment that meets the health requirements is the foundation for development education and growth of young children, also, is an important prerequisite for teaching and protecting the childhood in kindergartens. In order to protect the healthy development of Children and provide a good physical environment for children, this study chooses kindergartens of different levels of 9 districts of Chongqing. This study chooses 20 public kindergartens and 20 private kindergartens by the purpose of sampling. Based on the previous researches, we combine the theory and practice methods to study physical environment of the kindergartens. The practice methods mainly include observation, measurement, test, questionnaire and interviews, and so on. We survey kindergartens about the garden, buildings and equipment health status.Research results are showed as follow:most kindergartens have a health, cleaning, and quiet garden nursery environment, with adequate outdoor venues. Most of the activities place of the kindergarten, such as bedroom, bathroom in good health state. And also, the toilets are well-ventilated room with clean and dry ground. The bedding have been reasonable disinfected, and children have right size care nursery beds; bathroom and toilet facilities meet the health requirements; eating utensils, books, teaching aids, toys and sports equipment and other basic instrument are with hygienic requirements. All of above are reassuring. But there are also some problems, mainly described as follows:activity room and bedroom area less than we need in the majority of the garden nursery; tables and chairs are not so suitable for the kids, also the font of text books is too small for the kids' eyes health; especially the private kindergarten, which lack of green space and a serious shortage of light illumination. Main reasons caused of these problems are:lack of knowledge between physical environment and kids'health; the limitation of geographical and economic conditions; related system is not so perfect and so on.Aiming to the nursery state of current environmental health problems, this study gives some advises from kindergarten, kindergarten higher authorities, parents and government as following: kindergarten should not only pay attention to the health status of physical environment in mind, but also to take concrete method to solve the current material environmental health problems; higher authorities should attach more importance to environmental health assessment, and improve evaluation criteria of the physical environment of health system, also should increase the management intensity of the physical environment, at the same time the government should give the nursery training and health services guidance; parents should pay attention to the physical environment and health, so as to supervise the physical environment and public health of kindergarten; government perfects the policies and criteria to improve the physical environment of health systems and standards, and supervisor the implementation of the relevant systems and standards, in addition, the government should increase support the private kindergarten.
