Clinical Observation On The Effect Of Dendrobium Luminous Pills In Treating Dry Eye

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Dendrobium Luminous Pills in treatment of dry eye, and explore the mechanism of it initially.Methods:There are 90 patients with dry eye disease who were enrolled and treated in the affiliated hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),according to the same inclusion and exclusion criteria.They were divided into 2 groups as 1:1 proportion randomly. The test group was treated with Dendrobium Luminous Pills and Tears Naturale Forte, the control group was treated with Tears Naturale Forte. Patients were treated 2 month in each group. Symptoms of western medicine and TCM, break-up time (BUT), corneal fluorescein staining (CFS), Schirmer I test (SIt I) value were observed and measured before and after treatment.Results:1. Before-treatment, the differences had no statistical significance in the sexes, age, course, the symptoms of western medicine and TCM, BUT, CFS and SIt I between two groups (P>0.05), the two groups were comparable.2. Total effective rate of the test group is 80%,65% for the control group after treatment.The differences had statistical significance in the effective rate and excellent rate between two groups (P<0.05), the effect of test group was better than control group.3. Total effective rate of the TCM Symptoms scores of the test group is 85%,67.5% for the control group after treatment.The differences had statistical significance in the effective rate and excellent rate between two groups (P<0.01), the effect of test group was better than control group.4. After-treatment, both of the two groups can significantly improve the symptoms and signs of dry eye (P<0.01).The differences had statistical significance between the two groups (P<0.05).The test group was superior to the control group on recoveries of symptoms, BUT, CFS and SIt I value.Conclusion:Dendrobium Luminous Pills combined with Tears Naturale Forte can significantly improve the symptoms increase BUT and SIt I value, promote renovation of epithelium corneae in treating of dry eye.
