Objective This research is conducted to investigate the clinical effect of the sodiumaescinate combined with aescuren forte against the swelling of scrotum after theoperation, in pursuit of better treatment for the suffers of postoperative scrotumswelling. Methods The research sample was composed of132cases of the patientsof the epididymitis who had gone through operations. Based on the medicines takenby these sufferers since the first day following their operations, they had beenclassified into two major groups randomly: The treatment group: the treatment groupcontains three sub-groups. Patients in these three sub-groups would be given thesodium aescinate (A1Sub-Group:32cases), the aescuren forte (A2Sub-Group:35cases) and the sodium aescinate combined with aescuren forte (A3Sub-Group:45cases). Other setting of this group was exactly identical with that of the control group; The control group: Only conducted the conventional heteropathy towards patients inthis group (B Group:20cases). After the operations, patients in each group, as well asin each sub-group, would rest in bed and be given the conventional nursing caregenerally taken after the scrotum operations. The effect of the sodium aescinate andthat of the sodium aescinate combined with aescuren in recovering sufferers in thetreatment group would be carefully observed and analyzed. The degree ofpostoperative scrotum swelling and the recovery time, as well as the difference of thewound healing time, between the treatment group and the control group would also beemphasized. In addition, this research would also take into account the otherness ofthe common adverse reactions of the postoperative medicines in the treatment group.Research methods including statistical analysis would be employed to analyze thedata.Statistical Approach: SPSS17.0would be used for data analysis. Results Interms of degree of postoperative scrotum swelling and recovery time, patients in thetreatment group (including three sub-groups) had the conspicuous advantages overthose in the control group.(Statistical significances were showed up at48h,96h and7d, P<0.05). In relation to the wound healing time, patients in the treatment groupwere also better than those in the control group (P<0.05). The sodium aescinatesub-group (A1), compared with the aescuren forte sub-group (A2), had more commonadverse reactions after taking the postoperative medicines (P<0.05). Data regarding the sodium aescinate combined with aescuren forte sub-group (A3) had the statisticalsignificance at48h,96h and7d (P<0.05). Its wound healing time (P<0.05) was muchmore advantageous than that of A1and A2. A comparison between A3and A1revealed that A3had the less adverse reactions (P<0.05). Yet, if comparing A3withA2, the former one had the more adverse reactions (P<0.05), which suggested that thesodium aescinate combined with aescuren forte had the better effect against thepostoperative scrotum swelling. Conclusions1. Sodium aescinate and aescurenforte are effective medicines against exudation and swelling, especially against theoperative scrotum swelling.2. It will be better to combine these two medicines interms of effect. The wound healing time can be effectively shortened, contributing tothe earlier hospital discharge of the patients while releasing the heavy workload ofdoctors.
