PurposeThe vitreous hemorrhage is a common disease of ophthalmology department which has a serious influence on the vision, the cause of this disease is complicated, and the hemorrhage can be hardly absorbed, the treatment is difficult. This topic aims to discuss the distribution of probability, feature of the disease, distribution of the syndrome e type, situation of the substage of each cause by studing the cause of disease and the syndrome e type and substage of TCM, the result can give the advice to the clinical diagnosis and the therapy of combing traditional Chinese and Western medicineMethodsThe 236 cases of the subject are the people who were diagnosed with vitreous hemorrhage in the Ophthalmology department of the attached hospital of Cheng du University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between December 1998 and January 2009, by form-filling (for details), recording the patient's age, sex, course of disease, eye differently, medical history, predisposing factors, specialist inspection on eye, the cause of vitreous hemorrhage, in order to identify the distribution of the causes, feature of the disease by statistical analysis; at the same time, recording the subjective symptom and the tongue manifestation, pulse manifestation, etc. to analyse the differentiation of symptoms and signs in strict TCM Syndrome differentiation principles, the same through the statistical analysis, to sum up the distribution of the syndrome e type and situation of substage.Results1. The patients with vitreous hemorrhage of this topic,59 patients (25%)caused by retinal vein occlusion,49 cases of diabetic retinopathy (20.76%),39 cases of eales disease (16.53%),29 cases of trauma (12.29%), other causes include:16 cases of retinal detachment,12, cases of hypertension'and arteriosclerosis,9 cases of age-related macular degeneration,7 cases of posterior vitreous detachment,2cases of glaucoma,2 cases of syphilis retinitis,1 cases of old uveitis,1 case of post-operative of cataract surgery,1 case of cost disease2.Vitreous hemorrhage of different causes of men and women has statistically significant (P<0.05).3.Vitreous hemorrhage of different causes at all ages has statistically difference (P<0.05).4. The incidence of Hypertension in different etiology of vitreous hemorrhage has the statistical differences (P<0.05).5. Syndrome type of Vitreous Hemorrhage is composed as follows:Qi and Yin Deficiency type account for 28%, Qi stagnation blood stasis type account for 26%, yin deficiency with effulgent fire account for 24%, stagnant blood and heat account for 22%.6. Vitreous hemorrhage of various causes of distribution of TCM syndromes has significant difference (P<0.05).7. Vitreous hemorrhage syndrome types of TCM syndromes in various stages has significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion1.236 patients with vitreous hemorrhage in our hospital, the main causes are RVO, DR, Eales disease and trauma, of which the RVO is the main cause.2. In this study, vitreous hemorrhage of various syndrome e type distribution frequency is almost equal. Qi and Yin Deficiency type, Qi stagnation blood stasis type, yin deficiency with effulgent fire type, stagnant blood and heat account type are the major types of vitreous hemorrhage.3. TCM syndrome-type of vitreous hemorrhage has different distribution of the various causes, the main types of retinal vein occlusion are yin deficiency with effulgent fire type and stagnant blood and heat account type, the second types are Qi and Yin Deficiency type and Qi stagnation blood stasis type; diabetic retinopathy with Qi and Yin Deficiency type, followed by the yin deficiency with effulgent fire type; Eales disease with yin deficiency with effulgent fire type, Qi and Yin Deficiency type, stagnant blood and heat account type, followed by the Qi stagnation blood stasis type; eye injury with Qi stagnation blood stasis type.4. The relationship between the substage and the type of syndrome of vitreous hemorrhage,:(1) bleeding period mainly with Qi stagnation blood stasis type, blood stasis period mainly with stagnant blood and heat account type and Qi stagnation blood stasis type, the blood of dead period mainly with Qi stagnation blood stasis type, the dried blood period mainly with Qi and Yin Deficiency type. (2) The former three to Qi stagnation blood stasis type mainly, is excessive syndrome; the last period to with Qi and Yin Deficiency type mainly, is deficiency syndrome. With the development of vitreous hemorrhage course, the main syndromes of TCM will be converted to deficiency syndrome from the excessive syndrome. gradually by the positive shift Deficiency Syndrome. It proves the treatment based on syndrome differentiation of TCM conforms to the treatment based on substage.
