Purpose: To observe the clinical characters and factors related to prognosis of visual acuity in 106 eyes of vitreous hemorrhage.Method: 106 eyes of 105 consecutive patients who underwent vitrectomy for vitreous hemorrhage during 2013.8-2015.8 were retrospectively analyzed(vitreous hemorrhage caused by proliferative diabetic retinopathy and trauma is excluded). Etiology of vitreous hemorrhage, age, duration of disease, preoperative retinal laser photocoagulation, the techniques of operation, intraocular tamponade, preoperative and postoperative visual acuity, postoperative complications were recorded and analyzed. Results: 1.There were 106 eyes of 105 consecutive patients who underwent vitrectomy for vitreous hemorrhage in this study.Retinal vein occlusion 61 patients(58.10%),rhegmatogenous retinal detachment 17 patients(16.20%),age related macular degeneration 8 patients(7.62%),polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy 6 patients(5.71%),Eales disease 5 patients(4.76%),hypertensive retinopathy 2 patients(1.90%),retinal arterial macroaneurysms 1 patient(0.95%), Terson syndrome 1 patient(0.95%), idiopathic thrombocytopenia 1 patient(0.95%),idiopathic vitreous hemorrhage 3 patients(2.86%).2.Visual acuity before and after surgery have a significant statistical difference(P<0.001).3.The rate of the good postoperative visual acuity of the young group and the elderly group was higher than that of middle-aged group(P=0.011, P=0.012),however there was no statistical difference between the young group and the elderly group(P=0.502).4.In retinal vein occlusion induced vitreous hemorrhage, the rate of the good postoperative visual acuity of the less than 2 months with vitreous hemorrhage group was higher than that of more than 2 months with vitreous hemorrhage group(P=0.006).5.The rate of good postoperative visual acuity of the micro-invasive vitrectomy group was higher than that of the standard 20 G vitrectomy group(P=0.008).6.The rate of good postoperative visual acuity of irrigation solution group was higher than that of silicon oil group and C3F8 group(P=0.005,P=0.004),there was no statistically difference between the silicon oil group and C3F8 group(P=0.693).7.The main postoperative complications were high intraocular pressure and recurrent vitreous hemorrhage. Conclusion: 1.Retinal vein occlusion, rhegmatogenous retinal detachment and age related macular degeneration were the major causes of vitreous hemorrhage in this study.2. Micro-invasive vitrectomy is a safe and effective method for the treatment of vitreous hemorrhage.3. Prognosis is related to cause of disease, age, duration of disease, the techniques of operation, intraocular tamponade.4.High intraocular pressure and recurrent vitreous hemorrhage were the main postoperative complications in this study.
