Objectives:Through survey on career planning status of college-level educated clinical nurses from general hospitals in the Taizhou, to study the status of college-level educated clinical nurses, implement and management of career planning and shortcomings in nursing professional development and to discuss on related influencing factors. This study offer method and basis for nursing administrators to carry out scientific career planning education, counseling, career planning, implement and management. Career management on degree nurses, further improvement on professional environment, improving their motivation and job satisfaction, preventing nursing brain drain and improving the level of nursing human resources management have theoretical and practical value.Methods:1,Subjects:choose college-level educated clinical nurses from 3 Class Three and 12 Class Two general hospitals in seven counties of Taizhou, Zhejiang by secondary stratified sampling method. 2,Methods and content:Take on-site investigation, using "college-level education of clinical nurse career planning questionnaire" by descriptive survey research methods. Then test the reliability and validity for survey tools, analyze the career planning status of college-level educated clinical nurses and discuss the influencing factors.3,Statistical analysis of data:The SPSS 17.0 software was used for data statistical analysis. In this study, we used analytical method of descriptive analysis, t test, correlation analysis and ANOVA to comparing the collected data.Results:1,The total test-retest reliability of questionnaire on college-level educated clinical nurses'career planning is 0.874 (P=0.000). Two-week retested Pearson's r correlation coefficient is 0.874 (P=0.000). Total Cronbach's a coefficient for questionnaire is 0.932. The correlation of the rest of six dimensions and the total score is higher than 0.50, except the dimension of "confidence of being engaged in the nursing profession for the whole life". During the process of the survey, the effects and purposes of assessing college-level educated clinical nurse career planning are basically achieved.2,The status of college-level educated clinical nurse career planning:the satisfaction degree of college-level educated clinical nurses career planning is at the medium level.72.18% is normal (scoring 138-183). Total mean is 158.04±22.11. Item mean score is 3.44±0.99. The scores of item mean for each entry of six dimensions are cognition of nursing career, understanding themselves and environment, individual career planning, the confidence of being a nurse in whole life, career development, implementation and management of career planning. College-level educated clinical nurses don't have high self-awareness of planning. Their awareness of career development and implementation is weak. Career planning and management in college-level educated clinical nurses haven't attract much attention to nursing administrators and college educated nurses.3,Analysis on influencing factors of the status for college-level educated clinical nurse:In this study, we find out that there is significant difference between the status of college-level educated clinical nurses'career planning and 13 factors in general social demographic, P<0.05. The 13 factors are the hospital level, the teaching hospital level, the department, initial education, ways to obtain college-level education, marital status, position, occupation, human relations, whether night shift, status of pursuing further education, occupation of father and mother et al. The data of demographic without significant difference are: age, in which career stage, recruitment batch of college graduates, with or without bachelor's degree, income, whether the only children, family and work location, father and mother's educational level.Conclusions:This study shows that questionnaire on college-level educated clinical nurses' career planning has good reliability and validity. The results reflects the general level of caeer planning has yet to be improved for the college-level educated clinical nurses in Class Three and Class Two general hospitals of Taizhou. This research suggests that a more systematic, comprehensive and conducted in-depth career planning and management for nursing continuing education program will be the main method to promote the continuous development of highly educated nurses and improve nursing human resources management effectively.
