| Objective:Based on clinic observation, to analysis the curative effect and the mechanism of ulcerative colitis Liver Stagnation and Spleen treated by Shujian Huazhi decoction. Methods:60 patients with UC were divided into two groups at random:the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group was given Shujian Huazhi decoction and use of oral plus Enema, and the control group was given Solid-intestine Antidiarrheal pills.4 weeks were set as a course of treatment.The clinical effects of each group were observed during the course and the follow-up survey of 6 months. Results:The clinic results showed that two groups had certain effect to treat the disease, but the experimental group had the better result. There were obvious difference between the two group on the total effective rate, curative effect of symptom, integral of main symptom, effective rate of colon muco change in the electronic colonoscopy, and effective rate of pathologic change in mucosa (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusions:Shujian Huazhi decoction was a useful prescription to treat the recrudesced or initial onset type ulcerative colitis in active state. The decoction can improve the clinical symptom of UC, regualte the function of body and have actionts of improving micro circulation and anti-inflammatory.
