Objective:Based on epidemiological investigations, this research analyzes the relative risk factors and sick rates of NAFLD, and analyze the relationship between the risk factors and the typing results of Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Differentiation, thus providing theoretical reference for the control of NAFLD through combining Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. Methods:Following the medical check results,805 subjects were distributed into Non-NAFLD Group and NAFLD Group. Within the NAFLD Group, according to the syndrome differentiation typing theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the subjects were sub-grouped as Liver Stasis and Spleen Deficiency Syndrome, Damp-hot Internal Holding Syndrome, Sputum Stagnation Syndrome, and Liver-Kidney Deficiency Syndrome. Data obtained were statistically processed with SPSS 15.0. Numerical data were analyzed with T test, qualitative data were analyzed with chi-square test, the tendency of sick rate rising with age were analyzed with linear-by-linear association, multi-factors were analyzed with Logistic regressive. The relations of NAFLD with factors including age, sex, BMI, blood pressure, blood-lipid, blood sugar were analyzed, and the connections between Traditional Chinese Medicine typing and NAFLD risk factors such as age, sex, BMI, blood pressure, blood-lipid, blood sugar were studied.Results:1.The total sick rate of NAFLD is 23.98%; Men's sick rate (30.58%) is higher than that of women (19.49%) (P<0.01); Women's sick rates show a tendency of increasing with age (P<0.01).2.The results of logistic multiple-factor-stepwise-regression analysis indicate that TG, BMI, FBG,masculineness and DBP are major risk factors leading to NAFLD. After divided by sex,the results show that TG, BMI, FBG, age and DBP are major risk factors for women, while TG, BMI, FBG and DBP are major risk factors for men.3.Liver Stasis and Spleen Deficiency Syndrome, with normal or slightly increased TG, FBG and ALT, is the major syndrome of mild type NAFLD; Damp-hot Internal Holding Syndrome, with slightly increased ALT, TG and FBG, and Sputum Stagnation Syndrome, with significantly increased ALT, TG and FBG and highest BMI, are two major types of moderate NAFLD; Liver-Kidney Deficiency Syndrome, with normal or slightly increased ALT and significantly increased SBP, DBP, TG and FBG, together with Sputum Stagnation Syndrome are major syndromes of severe NAFLD.Conclusion:1.Major risk factors leading to NAFLD include TG, BMI, FBG, DBP and gender (masculiness); TG, BMI, FBG, age and DBP are major risk factors for women, while TG, BMI, FBG and DBP are major risk factors for men.2.The sufferers'conditions of fat liver, TG, BMI, FBG and blood pressure are closely related with the Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome differentiation typing, and may be utilized as objective supporting indices, thus providing objective reliance for the control of NAFLD through combining Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine.
