Objective: On the base of previous study of the treatment effectiveness by using Meta-cognition Intervention Technique, this thesis will further verify its efficacy and have an in-depth discussion whether the assignment by using Meta-cognition Intervention Technique has an influence on the course of treatment, the therapeutic effect and the inner experience of the clients. Methods: Select six Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder clients of the Counseling Center of Liaoning Normal University, divide all these clients into the experimental group (assignments group) and the control group (no assignments group) randomly according to the visiting order and design an experimental research by applying Multiple-baseline design. It takes the scores of Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (YBOCS) and Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90) for the standard of the curing. On the other hand, it uses the self-made Obsessive-Compulsive Symptoms Self-Assessment (OCSSA) to record the circumstances, frequency, duration, etc. of the symptoms and takes the results of OCSSA as indicators of multiple baseline experimental design. Results: All the clients'scores of SCL-90 are lower than the demarcation after the intervention; in experimental group, the lower scores rate of YBOCS has reached a level of significance; however, the control group only achieves an effective level. In the nine-month follow up, all the clients had no recurrence of signs of obsessive-compulsive symptoms. After the intervention, the Multiple-baseline chart shows that all the clients'Obsessive-Compulsive symptoms were decreased to a significant level. The experimental group's symptoms decreased obviously, and the control group's Obsessive-Compulsive symptoms decreased less. After the stop of the intervention, the experimental group's Obsessive-Compulsive symptoms continued to reduce and tended to disappear, while the control group's Obsessive-Compulsive symptoms only remained in the condition at the end of the intervention and some clients'Obsessive-Compulsive symptoms tended to rise again. However, after the second intervention, the control group's Obsessive-Compulsive symptoms continued to decrease and tended to disappear at last. Conclusion: The Meta-cognition Intervention Technique has an obvious effect on the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and it can solve the clients'main problem quickly. It can prove that the Meta-cognition Intervention Technique is an effective and hopeful method in curing Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. In this method, the assignment has played a positive role in the course of treatment, the therapeutic effect and the inner experience of the clients. |
