Objective:To explore the choice between the TCM conservative treatment and surgical treatment and the clinical effect of the both bone forearm fractures in children.Methods:Retrospective analysis the Sixty children with both bone forearm fractures were treated during the past 2 years(From March,2008 to January,2010). According to the different treatment methods, they were divided into conservative group and surgical group. Each group had 30 children. The TCM conservative treatment group were managed with manipulative reduction and exterxal fixation with small splints. The surgical treatment group were managed with closed reduction and intramedullary fixation with kirschner. After the fracture healing,to compared the fracture healing time, forearm function and the incidence of complications between two groups.Results:Conservative treatment group surpass surgical treatment group in fracture healing time and forearm function for the both bone forearm fractures in children (P< 0.05); Between the two groups, there was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion:For the both bone forearm fractures in children,conservative treatment and surgical treatment can achieve satisfactory effect. The conservative treatmen was faster and more convenient, easy to adjustment and post-operative observation, fracture heal faster,functional recovery of forearm rotation was better and easy to patients and their parents to accept. The conservative treatmen was a effective and practical way of the both bone forearm fractures in children.
