The Clinical Research Of Triple Combination Therapy In The Treatment Of Lumbar Disc Herniation

Purpose:The Lumbar Disc Hemiation(LDH) is one of common diseases and frequently-occurring diseases in low back pain, non-surgical therapy is still the main method of lumbar disc herniation treatment. At present, the research in conservative treatment of lumbar disc herniation has made great progress. This topic was based on the basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and according to expected the clinical observation, we discovered that the triple combination treatment about Shen-Mai injection, the BuShen QiangJin Capsule application and trinity orthopedic-spinal manipulation all had the different levels of efficacy to the LDH. The way of combination with the clinical manifestation and present research achievements. This topic carry out a clinical research to two sets of dissimilarity treatment. Sixty volunteers (36 male;24 female;range 40-70 years) were allocated randomly to control and experimental groups:The experimental group received the triple combination therapy consisting of transforaminal injection therapy by Shen-Mai injection, BuShen QiangJin Capsule application, and combined with trinity orthopedic-spinal manipulation;while the other half received a transforaminal nerve root injection by use of the triamcinolone acetonide and combined with trinity orthopedic-spinal manipulation. We evaluate the efficacy and safety of the triple combination treatment in LDH, and make selection better one from conservative therapy.Methods:Both inclusive and exclusive rules have been used to measure,60 LDH volunteers were allocated randomly to control and experimental groups. Experimental group (n=30), using transforaminal injection therapy by Shen-Mai injection, BuShen QiangJin Capsule application, and combined with trinity orthopedic-spinal manipulation,The treatment in experimental groups was given daily for 1 week and 4 periods in all;Control group(n=30), using of a transforaminal nerve root injection by use of the triamcinolone acetonide and combined with trinity orthopedic-spinal manipulation. The treatment in control groups wasg given daily for 2 weeks and 4 periods in all. Dependent quantization of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association Score with the Standard Scoring of LowerBack Pain(JOA Scoring), during treatment at before-treatment, all the scoring of post-treatment,3 months follow-up,6 months follow-up and 1 year follow-up were analysied by Before-after comparison and the comparative study between two different treatment. Statistical analysis were carried out using SPSS FOR WINDOWS (version 15.0).Results:Comparable experimental group and control group in sex, age, and on the course of LDH disease, and the effect of the impact of no statistically significant difference(P>0.05). To compare the effects from patients with LDH, the treatment of two group was obtain significant effects. In the post-treatment and three months after treatment the effects was compared with no significant difference (P>0.05). In six months after treatment and one year after treatment, experimental group treatment was obviously better than the control group (JOA quantification grade was P<0.05), especially in cure rate(curative effect grade was P<0.05).Conclusion:The triple combination therapy, consisting of transforaminal injection therapy by Shen-Mai injection, BuShen QiangJin Capsule application, and combined with trinity orthopedic-spinal manipulation, has synergistic effect on treating Lumber Disc Herniation protrusion. Shen-Mai injection can improve spinal canal blood and circulation, reduce nerve stimulation, relieve lumbar spasm and restore Lumbar Mechanical balance;BuShen QiangJin Capsule application can treated form root causes, Clinical curative effects of BuShen QiangJin Capsule application on LDH with syndrome of deficiency of the liver and kidney,it can regulat patient constitution, and BuShen QiangJin Capsule application seeking both temporary and permanent solutions while focusing on the permanent solution;Trinity orthopedic-spinal manipulation can improve the location relation of the nerve roots and Disc Herniation;The triple combination therapy was a safe and effective method to treat the LDH. It has Chinese feature which deserved to be researched further, and is a beneficial treatment for LDH in the both short-term and the long-term. It can be regarded as a good comprehensive methods in treating LDH.
