Objective:1 To observe the clinical effect and the changes of CT or MRI of Lumber Intervertebral disc Herniation(LIDH) treated by acupuncture and Plum-Blossom Needle and Cupping Therepy.2 To investigate the therapeutic mechanism of the therapy.3 To provide the theoretical and clinical basis for LIDH treated by. Acupuncture Combined with Plum-Blossom Needle and Cupping Therapy. Methods:Ninety patient with LIDH were randomly divided into three groups:the treatment group (30 cases), treated by acupuncture combined with plum-blossom needle and cupping therapy; the control group one (30 cases) treated by acupuncture, the control group two (30 cases) treated by plum-blossom needle and cupping therapy. All of them are the same with points method and course. then observe the changes of symptom score and CT or MRI.Results:1. General information:There are no significant differences in sex, age, course, affected side syndrome differentiation and symptom score in three groups (P>0.05).This study is comparable.2. clinical effect:The treatment group:20 cases healed completely,7cases had marked effect,2 cases had effect,1 cases had no effect, so the cure rate was 96.7%. The control one group:10cases healed completely,5 cases had marked effect,6 cases had effect,9 cases had no effect, so the cure rate was 70%. The control two group:8 cases healed completely,4 cases had marked effect,8 cases had effect,10 cases had no effect, so the cure rate was66.7%. There was significant difference between the three groups (P<0.05), and the treatment group was superior to the control group.Comparison of symptom score:There were significant differences between the pre-treatment and post-treatment in the three groups. After treatment, there was significant difference between the three groups (P<0.05),which showed that three group were valid, but the treatment group was superior to the control group on improving symptoms. Comparison of syndrome of syndrome differentiation after treatment: three groups were valid in syndrome differentiations, but the effective rate are different, while there was no significant difference (P>0.05).3. The changes of CT or MRI parameters:In three groups, the pre-treatment and post-treatment showed significance difference (P<0.05). After the treatment, there was significant difference between the treatment group to the control groups (P<0.05), which should that they both shortened the latency of facial nerve conduction, and the treatment group was superior to the control group. There was no difference between the two control groups (P>0.05), which showed that two control groups have no difference in improving CT or MRI parameters.Conclusion:1 Acupuncture combined with plum-blossom needle and cupping therapy had definite clinical effect in treating Lumber Intervertebral disc Herniation(LIDH),better than simple acupuncture and simply plum-blossom needle and cupping. Acupuncture combined with plum-blossom needle and cupping therapy could be used to improve the changes of CT or MRI parameters of LIDH better than simple acupuncture or simple simply plum-blossom needle and cupping.3.The integration of acupuncture and plum-blossom needle and cupping was better than the sum of the action of each therapy.
