Objective:To probe the effect of thread-embedding on E2 and P in ShenXu POF(premature ovarian failure, POF) mice caused by tripterygium wilfordii polycoride (TWP)Methods:24 mice were randomly divided into normal control group, model group, thread-embedding control group. The normal control group was intragastric administration by distilled water 0.4mg/(10g·8d); The model group was intragastric administration by TWP 0.4mg/(10g·8d); the model of thread-embedding control group was established as same as the model group, meanwhile, treated with thread-embedding in RN3, RN4, left KI16 and right KI12, at the beginning of the modeling.Amount of drinking water and food-intake, activity, fur, weight and estrous cycles were observed during the experiment. After 8 days, all mice were killed, The levels of estradiol(E2) and progestin(P)in peripheral blood were measured with enzyme-linked immunoadsorbent assay (ELISA); Weight of ovaries and uterus were balanced.Results:1. Compared with the normal control group, mice in the model group drunk and ate less, crouch, fur went into dim, estrous cycles prolonged or disordered; mice in the thread-embedding control group kept natural situation, Estrous cycles of part of them prolonged but still have periodic change.2. mice in the model group manifested such abnormalities as decreased weight, weight of ovaries and uterus and E2 level(P<0.05); weight, weight of ovaries and uterus and E2 in the thread-embedding control group have not changed obviously(P>0.05).3. P level in model group was lower than the meridians buried line group's, the thread-embedding group was lower than the normal group's. The different was not significant (P>0.05).Conclusion:The thread-embedding can keep E2 and P in normal level in ShenXu POF mice, protect ovaries damage in mice caused by TWP, and alleviated the side effect during the therapeutic process.
